im having an issue with my Cd/radio in my mazda 3. ive been trying to diagnose the problem without paying 130 plus dollars at mazda just for them to hook up their diag tool. i was looking at how hard it would be to install the mp3 addition since the dealer was going to charge me 3 hrs labor.. so i took it all apart.. pulled out the radio and looked at it.. put it right bak.. and now my radio works but it doesnt acknowledge my cdchanger.. theres cds in there.. just no knowledge that its even there..

i havent been able to get my hands on a modis because im in the diesel program at uti right now.. so i dont have ready access to one.

self diag pulled up three codes.. two of which were irrelevant but the thrid was 06Er:10 which basically said no communication btwn radio and cd player..

my teacher had me clear the codes from the radio but im sure the codes are still in the ecm somewhere. nothing ive tried.. fuses, leaving battery off line for ever.. nothing works. im sure this will need to be reflashed somehow.. but with mazda not giving me any answers and bose getting angry with me for even asking for their assistance.. i thought id ask here if anyone would have a clue and possibly a diag tool.

any helpful advice yall can throw my way. would be great. dont really listen to the radio but i need my cd player. thanks,

That's odd. That happened to me once & I didn't even remove anything. I just left it alone & said to myself I'm going to take it in tomorrow. Later on getting back into my car, CD started working as normal. In your case, I'd say take the radio back out with it still hooked up & wiggle the wires around to see if you get any change.

thanks... tried that but i beileve its more of and ecu/ ecm problem.. so about 50 people have looked at this an no one can help? i would think there would be more "informed" mazda owners and tinkerers in here..
