mazda 3 2.0 Timing Chain Stretched?

hey everyone! got my valve cover off and i see the chain is not broken but i can press down on the top of the chain and there is a little slack. is the chain supposed to be tight with no play or is there supposed to have a little play?2006 mazda 3 timing chain video

A little bit of play isn't going to hurt. If it isn't rattling when driving / revving it shouldn't be an issue. If it looks straight and doesn't droop down it should be ok.

Awesome thanks! so I just posted a video let me know if you can what you think.
Try rotating the engine by hand and see if it tightens up. If you can turn the crankshaft two full revolutions there shouldn’t be anything hitting each other and the engine is okay to at least crank if it won’t start. There is also a timing kit that can be found for pretty cheap if you want to verify timing is correct before cranking over especially if you already have the valve cover off. There are plenty of videos on this forum and other places that go over the timing of these engines. It would be a good idea to read the dtc’s and see what have set and gave the previous owner the idea there was a timing issue.
The video didn't work for me unfortunately. How many kms/miles does the car have and does it rattle when it is running?
