Hey everyone, im inbetween a rock and a hard place. Ive recently found that ive most likely thrown a rod in my mazda 3 sedan. Just wondering what people would recommend between finding a second hand engine to replace damaged/old internals or just ordering aftermarket/forged internals for bottom and top end.

Any insights and answers help, i have asked mechanics and they've recommended engine swaps but i dont have the money for vin registration or engine plate swaps or whatever follows with that sort of business and just wondering if aftermarket/forged internals would do better in the long run than replacing with stock internals.

Cheers!

In the US the definitive answer is almost always swap in the exact engine from a salvage yard, or if ambitious do a 2.0 to 2.5 swap with the similar Ford Fusion 2.5 Maybe the rules are different where you live, but here nobody looks at vin markers on engines to compare them to the chassis.
