A bit late, but congrats to Mr. McKnight for the excellent performance put out with taking 2nd in H Stock.

Would anyone know what kinda setup his Mazda 3 was running during that competition?

I did read that it was an i model running 205-15's. Looking at the picture from Grassroots, he is running Koni's, or at least is using their decals.

I believe the cars are stock except for wheels and tires.

'Stock' class is also allowed:

Air filter
Exhaust (after the cat)
Shocks (but not triple or quad adjustable)
Brake pads
Front Sway Bar and Bushings
Thermostat
Engine may be overbored by .020"

So there's a lot that can be done. Not many do the overbore (a lot more did it when it was .040 and there was money in Pro Solo) , but if you have an older stock class car that needs a rebuild, why not go bigger? You cannot balance parts, but if all of your connecting rods and pistons happen to be the exact same weight right from the parts room.... well, who's to argue?

I'm not saying McKnight's car had more than shocks and tires, but, with the exception of the engine most of the other mods are easy and reletively inexpensive.

me too. i run STS and am trying to figure out what i need to do to compete for points and and how many events i need to attend
