Discussion Starter #1 (Edited)
I started my manual 2010 Mazda3 just fine this morning. It's about 20°F outside, which is warm for this time of year. I needed to scrape the windows, but forgot to put the car in neutral, so I killed the engine as soon as I went to leave the car. When I tried to restart, it won't turn over. All the lights come on but it just clicks. It's definitely not the battery. I tried hitting the starter, with no success. Any other thoughts?

Edit: I tested the starter relay, and it seems to be fine. I can hear the starter humming, which others with similar issues have also noted.

Just caught you can hear starter humming, last time I had that on a friends car the starter was seized. After trying to start it, is the starter hot?

Have you managed to resolve the issue? Usually, it is the battery that causes this problem.

Sounds like battery , then starter.
20F should not be enough to freeze the gas lines... but all it takes is a bit of moisture., dont drive the car for a while and crank crank crank , no fuel reaches engine and the battery dies out....
