Last week I noticed the car getting LOUD upon startup & acceleration only. Also can feel it under the pedal (kind of a raw feeling as opposed to the usual smooth quiet feel)
Not in neutral.
No check engine light. Pretty solid car otherwise. Any ideas what could cause this?
If this just started it may also be a sign that your exhaust system may be deteriorating. This is very hard to diagnose and even attempting to scope the pipe may not show the early signs. If you frequent low engine speeds and long idling times after staring the engine the acids formed from the exhaust can and do start to decay the material in the exhaust system. Some will know this form the moisture that drips out the exhaust during the first few minutes of starting and driving. If the operating temperature do not get reached and the engine speeds develop engine to blow out the exhaust moisture, they will settle in different areas of the exhaust system and start to corrode the material around them. That moisture although looks like it is clear coming out the exhaust tail pipes is a very corrosive material developed from the engine during cold starts.
Check your intake. The incompetent overpaid morons at the dealership recently left my intake air filter box open when I wasn't there for anything related to it. Drove around 3 days trying to figure out what they could have done before I noticed the clips were undone.
