Anyone else noticed this? I had 4 full grown guys in my car (inclusive of myself) probably adding ~1000lbs of weight. Cruising around town, on our way home and drive a bit spirited. Take some turns at a good speed, nothing excessive, just faster than I would in my old lumina, because the car just sits and turns... well occasionally on those turns i hear some rubbing or something on the outside rear corner, when I have the 4 of us loaded into it. Anyone else noticed this?

Of course the simple solution is...slow down for corners when you have 4 people in the car. but i'm surprised the noise was in the rear, and i guess that means no 245's without stiffer suspension?

This car is freakin awesome :-D

I can definitely vouch for this. The thing may have five seats, but it's definitely no passenger car. At least, not if the springs have anything to say about it.

I'd say if you drive with a big load, just take it easy around the corners.

i posted alil while ago, there were some not so helpful posts about it. a few confirmed the same problem.

basically i was with 4 passengers. under the 850 lb. load limit, 15-30 mph on ligh/moderate turns on factory wheels/suspension 100% bone stock and it was rubbing on the rear fenders.

told my service advisor about it. when i had my winter setup on the car (mazda 6 17" sport wheels and 215-50-17 blizzaks) which rubbed also.

service advisor at mazda said to bring it by when the stock wheels were on the car he'd try it out.

here's the post:

Thanks sp33dy...It was late when I posted so I shoulda searched because I remember reading your thread now... I guess i'll just take it slow around the corners...but I wonder how much it'll change with 245's :( Keep us posted Cosmic, as I'm sure you will.

I dont think it rubbing on the fender, I thought I heard about someone trimming a plastic peice up in the fender well somewhere? Maybe for a reg 3 with lowering springs or something. Go to autozone and put some rubber spacers between the rear springs. It will help with a heaver load..

that blue is painted on and its the only way those rims come. you could always custom paint that part, but you would loose the writing unless you were very careful
