nope, they're not
don't care who you are, you're wrong if you say they are
ooooops, buried to the frame
that's at least 8" deep
managed to get a tow out by a guy who happened to be coming off the beach at the time in an xterra
this is what ripped off - basically a splash shield, no big deal

Yep, I have to agree ^ You shouldnt be driving a sedan on the sand anyway, hehe.

well, see, that's just it
it's a hatchback
everyone KNOWS you don't drive a sedan on the sand!

Couldn't you have dug out the sand behind the wheel then backed up?
[/quote]
made that attempt, didn't work as it was sitting on the frame by that time
could have dug out, sure, but would have taken hours, with only hands, to get all the sand out from under the body in order to get the tires on something solid so i could back up
How is this the tire manufacture's fault that you got stuck in the sand? Perhaps next time you ought to take a Jeep or something more appropriate for off roading.
no, no, no... ur doing it all wrong... first u need to get a 10" lift kit and HUGE tires and then go play in the sand :sarc:
but seriously, the guys from top gear went to a beach that was totally flat and soaking wet, so the sand was harder. it looked like the most fun with out a condom i've seen in a long time...
You can just use your floor mats to get you out next time. Same thing happened to my friend who drove into a farmer's private field in the middle of the night. Just jam the floor mats under the tires and floor it and just keep going.
I learned this from my friend from Hawaii since this happens all the time on their beaches.

tried that, didn't work
the frame of the car was sitting on the sand, there was no way to get things moving after that without a few hours of digging out from under the car - with only my hands
oh I know what you did now. you got stuck so you floored it thinking it might get some traction sooner or later, by the time you notice it won't get traction the frame was already in the sand.
also when the guy towed you out why didn't you use the tow hook its in your trunk and the manual says how to install it. that would have probably save your splash guard
