Pop the cover off and see if your cables are twisted, binding or otherswise out of alignment?

Yep I did grease (lithium based) the ball and socket. I'm sure I covered it enough.

Any ideas?

You shouldn't have any problems (given the fact that you had installed it correctly) shifting through the gates. If i were you, I'll take it off and re-install them. Make sure you didn't drop anything that will hinder the shift pattern/path. You'll know you got it right when you feel a slight "click" as you shift through all the gears. Do you still have the stock shifter weight attached? If so, try to remove it and see how it feels.

+1 on the stock shifter weight.

the stock weight is calibrated for the longer shifter lever (more leverage).
By going to the shorter shifter you lose this leverage advantage and have to make up for it with muscle.

Taking the weight off may not solve your problem, but it will definitely help.

Thank you all for kind responses.

I took a look at the shifter assembly first thing this morning.

I forgot to put that white plastic bearing on the left side of the shifter

Now it feels just like what I wanted!! So happy. :)

I STRONGLY recommend TWM SS for ms3 drivers out there!

I had problems after installing mine as well. Everything seemed fine then a couple days later I couldn't get into reverse. Turned out a small ball (from an old mouse) that I keep in the car to roll around when bored had fallen in when I was working on it.
