Hi Guys,

I just bought brand new pioneer AVIC-D3. This unit is so much better than D2. Its Basically a Z1 and some more. The best part is that i can change all the buttons and display color to match the rest the REDNESS which i luv so much.

Now i need to figure out how to get this baby in!

I be doing my seach, but if you fell like helping me out here are my questions:

1. What dash kit i need?
2. Can i retain my stock lcd for AC DISPLAY?
3. Can i keep steering remote control?

i doon't think the d3 is as good as the z1/z2, but it is a nice deck. the 2din metra is supposed to come out soon, but that's been said for quite a while now, so maybe just buy a metra or scosch kit and have a shop cut it up for you for custom fit. i don't know too much about lcd business maybe some other people can chime in on that, but if you want to keep the steeringwheel controls, you have to buy a pac-swi made for pioneers.

ya i was checking those out on ebay just now, great price, but i'm surprised that the d2's and d3's prices are so low. usually for a 2din navi, i expect them to be 1500+

Been Doing my search and seems like for 06 model you can keep the stock lcd as its wired seprately! YAY

there i another one for auto climate control and is twice as much..

My question::

Since, top LCD is wired seprately for AC DISPLAY.. can i just buy the cheap unit.. Because 340 bucks for the double din kit is bit too much!!

I'm not sure about the auto climate control, but you stole my set up. So did you order that double din kit from ebay? I've been waiting around for the metra but it seems to just keep taking forever.

I'm certainly thinking about it. The metra kit seems to be taking a long time, and I'd rather buy a piece than have something fabbed up. I know that's a lotta money for a piece of plastic but if it's what you want and you have the money, and are tired of waiting, why not.

I know the D3 is supposed to be able to play the video from the iPod as well as music.. does anyone have any pics or videos of this actually taking place? I am curious of the screen quality..

2. PAC remote Kit of ebay - 48 Bucks!! Not bad at all
3. IPOD CABLE- 30
4. WIRING HARNESS - 13
5. 2 +4 CHANNEL RCA - 60

Thanks man.. that is great, I am anxious to see it. That is the same head unit I have been pondering getting. Such a great price. But I just wanted to see the video function from the ipod, and see how the quality of the screen is compared to some other head units.

Japanparts does sell a double din. They have three options, one black and one silver that are around the same price, $130ish. And then there's another kit that's like $270ish. Nothing that I've seen for cheap though.

there are three kits. its really way too much for a dash kit, but from what ive read on here, they fit quite nice. plus you wont have to wait for scosche/metra to get theirs out.....
