Hey Tonkin, what's the regular price with shipping going to be after the group buy?

I'd LOVE to pick one of these up, but i just bought wheels so it's going to be a while before i drop more cash on the Speed.

just got back from the test drive sound like BOV ,you can here the sound when your stepping on the gas, not sure of the extra power yet

is your splash shield upside down? It looks as though it should be the other way and not on top of the intake. Thanks for the pics and the vids. How long do you think the install would have been without removing the bumper.

You auctually cant install it upside down. (you will understand when you see the intake)

Lol, I know. I SO wish I had the discipline to wait until I had a full TBE, CAI, upgraded TMIC and an ECU upgrade to install any of it. Can you imagine the difference? :lol:

I like doing one mod at a time, so i can see how each effects my car, plus half the fun of owning a car is modding it, so why not prolong your fun instead of blowing your load in one shot.

Once I get mine I'll just sand off the blue color on the mazdaspeed logo and apply some true red color on it, hopefully it'll come out easy.

the thing i just relised is this is perfect for a bypass valve! you can put it right where the joint is and not have to cut your intake and lower the value thats a great option for those who are worried about the hydro locking issue

I will for sure look into it, I just don't like the Idea of going with CAI and adding any "possible restriction" such as the splash shield.

The AEM Air Bypass Valve is C.A.R.B. exempt on AEM Cold Air induction systems only and is NOT for use on forced induction vehicles

I had the MSP intake on my MZ3 (with same splash shield) and really don't think it restricts at all. If anything it will do its job and keep water from dripping on your filter.

How much power can you loose with a splash shield really? A fraction of pony if anything? Il prefer a safer setup. It does really make me feel better at least psychologically.
