Mazda is not dumb, nor are they out to fuck you (I cant say the same for some dealres *cough Allan Web Cough*)
This is a very easy install, and again I think even my fiencee could do it (she is coming along nicely, swapped the header from my wrecked Miata to her Miata with very little help)
we have a spec miata for sale if you are in the market

the install can be done by anyone green warranty only covers parts so if you install it or mazda it does not matter
Who do I blame for any "accidental" flooding or water going up the intake?
yourself i guess lol to hydrolock a car its more driver error than anything. you have to hit a large amount of water at a high throttle nobody will warranty against that

With the way you are asking about hydrolock, I am a little concerned.... you didn't manage to do that already did you?!
No. I'm a neophite in these matters. I have not dones any performance mods to any of my cars yet. I'm an old fart, but never got to to it when I was young. My neighbors friend got his CAI in a Nissan Maxima that messed it up badly with water going up the intake. I do not know the details. I was concerned about it, but he must have done something bad driving wise or he may have taken the under cover or something... who knows.
yeah hydrolock is a fear but i have only seen 1 myself in 7 years of doing this and this is a rainy state. It can happen but just don't go into a gaint puddle and hit full throttle. If you fear you have gone into a big puddle let off the gas instantly coast to the side of the road and check it out. Its not very common though

so this mazda speed intake is how much and could you deliver to NC????
these is a gb in the gb section for $310 shipped
Hey Ron Tonkin....will this gb still be in effect in a few months? This is a sweet deal you have going.
I am sure I will be able to get one through my dealer in Canada, but I am all about saving a buck
My car is sitting at port right now so not quite ready to order ....
well i might do another one later if the demand is there or pm me when your ready and we can work something out
the thing i just relised is this is perfect for a bypass valve! you can put it right where the joint is and not have to cut your intake and lower the value thats a great option for those who are worried about the hydro locking issue

here is the quote from AEM website and apparently it is a big NO with turbochaged cars...SUCKS!!!!! unless I am missing something or they mean u shouldn't use it as a blow off valve
The AEM Air Bypass Valve is C.A.R.B. exempt on AEM Cold Air induction systems only and is NOT for use on forced induction vehicles
