My 1D II took a dump on Friday with only 23,982 clicks on it while shooting the Bills training camp. Pissed me off pretty good, so I decided I'm going to sell it after getting it fixed and get a 1D III. Should be here Thursday :irock: (Yes, I do this professionally, I shoot weddings, horse shows, commercial photography, etc)

Nice, do you have a backup (30d, 40d, rebel)?

If not I would put the money in to getting a backup crop body so if your primary ever craps out on you again you'll have a spare. Especially if you do photography for an income you should have a backup at all times.

Selling my D300, for a D700 or a Canon. That camera is 8k, right?
[/quote]

Why? D300 is a great camera unless you have the need to go full frame (take a lot of landscape?)

I have the XTi... love it.

The XSi is newer though... so if you can swing that for a cheaper price go for it.

Oh I've got lots of other gear. :) I co-own a wedding photography business and have invested heavily in equipment which is still only a fraction of what I've invested in marketing. But, it pays off, I cap myself at 35 weddings per year, I might do a few more next year. They're fun to do!

Nice!

I just picked up a 1DmIII this week, as well, although mine had a previous owner. The performance at ISO 3200 and 6400 is rather remarkable. Still retains a great amount of detail, and doesn't exhibit the over-processed texture-reduced images many are drooling over from another manufacturer.

I'm looking forward to finally being able to shoot at a shutterspeed of 1/1000th for football, basketball, and volleyball this upcoming season. :)
