Okay, so why do the two have different knobs for climate control? Is there a package which gives different knobs, or is it between I and S versions? I think I saw the same sort of thing on the S, but I can never tell why they're like that.

Hi Kazbaeden,

I think the picture on the bottom shows the manual climate control panel and the top shows the automatic climate control panel. The interior panel of the mazda6 has similar layouts.

Not sure which comes in which model tho.

AC
Do you mean different transmission comes with different climate control, or that one you have to turn by hand and the other goes on automatically?
I'm assuming like the mazda 6 models and other cars, that the climate control is available on the higher and middle specs models whereas the manual control on the base model.
Does this auto climate ctrl exist in Canadian models?
The auto climate control exists with GT models in Canada. The GS models come with manual automatic control. We also have the option of I4 or V6 engines with both trims.

I think that the Mazda3 will do something similar, at least here in Canada.
Crap. I meant manual climate control. sry

V6 in the Mazda3? No. That I know 100% sure.
What's the US equivalent of hte GS and GT? I and S respectively?

Correct!
According to MazdaUSA.com, the auto climate control is not available on US models. Bummer.
So us in NA get the dark knobs not the clear ones???

He's talking about Mazda6.
Brunoluong' site say's that there is no automatic climate control for the canadian MZ3 trims. Dam :-(
Gib: Please put your location in your profile.

And welcome to the board!
Sorry I didn't mean the I4 or V6 part with the Mazda3.

Well I personally find the auto climate thing kinda useless... since it blows like crazy when you first turn it on, which is bad if you're warming up your engine and having all that DC electricity drained to your Air Cond. Just my opinion.
AC24: Agreed. The Maxi (see my sig) has them and it p!$$#$ me off. The PRO has manual ones and operates smoothly and just right.
climate control worth

I too, find automatic climate control systems to be completely pointless. I probably wouldn't even need a themostat in my house if the control was always half an arm's length away.
Choice between three interior trim packages – each with distinct character – are offered, allowing customers to select the style that matches their taste.
Found that on Mazda.ca... Perhaps the automatic climate control is part of an interior package? What else could be offered in the packages?
Hmmm...good question

I'm thinking that if the Mz3 has the automatic climate control system, it is probably the top trim. I would guess that this trim also includes leather AC, and moonroof.

I'm just predicting with regards to the Protege5 top trim.

Lets hope they also include the polished alloy feature...... those things were nice.
