I like these lights - a lot... (shown 3rd row from the bottom):

Available in the (jp) Axela, and in the US MZ RX-8 (foot lights only - $100), but not in the US 3...
Perhaps in the 2005 and maybe 2004 retrofit then, but I'd like to know if they're available sooner.

How are they switched? Or always running w/headlights? Foglights? Any install info?
I'd love to get the dealer to install and warrant them, though I suppose once they're in correctly,
not much could go wrong, except bulb outage.

Anyone have any info on how to acquire/install in the US now?

(Fumbling for items on the floor at night is almost as bad
as fumbling for black power control switches...)

Which one are you talking about? The door pocket illumination lamp or the foot lamp?
I think they're automatically turned on everytime you open the door.

About the foot/door compartment lights... Both, actually...
I'll ask the dealer about the foot lights for the 8.
I assumed they would be switchable, like the map and roof lights.
The door lights illuminate the storage bin contents.

I don't wanna have to be opening the door so my passenger can look for something on the floor while we're zoom-zooming on the fwy...
