Depends on a lot of factors:

age
tickets
points
location (they check by postal code)
driving habits (pleasure/business, how often)
car (Gs cheaper, GT more expensive)
deductible amounts you chose
previous claims history

and on and on...

It's best to talk to your parents' insurance broker/company and see what they say. Also rates vary A LOT ($2000+) between companies, so shop around thoroughly!!!

point taken ;)

All in all, a new Mazda three will cost atleast 3300 to insure for me annually.

That'll probably be almost as much as my monthly payments !!

If it is around $1700 then it is a pretty good rate compared to the Honda's and Acura out there.

depends what car u have...
my bf has a TSX....under his name and his dad's name....the insurace stated that 51% is his dad...and 49% is my bf.......and the insurance is ahout $2000 sth....is not that bad..
.
if u ar buying any coupe....high-end car...AND CIVIC!!! the insurance will be dman expensive....
my friend has a RSX Type-S...the insurance is like $4000 sth....and his dad told him to sell the RSX Type-S and buy him a new BMW 325i...since the insurance for those 2 cars are about the same....the RSX's insurace is very expensive!

First of all anything over 43%discount (roadstar) is not comprehensive coverage it is optional . I takes at least 9 years of save driving or non claims to get to that status. So for the average Joe (average person) it will cost alot of money for them to insure most Acura and Honda's including the TSX without the discount. PS: before I thought of getting the Mazda 3 I was going to get the RSX premuim and the only thing the force to change my decsion was the insurance rate was about $3000 and I have 40% discount already :x

I checked with my insurance guy (BC) a day or two ago. No ICBC rates are out for the m3 yet.....but he estimates it to be around the price of the Proteges.

That's no good they better have the rate by Saturday. But on the other hand if it is the same as the Protege's it will be pretty good.
