i just bought my 3 (GT, GFX) and started looking at insurance.....
Boy do i wish i had looked a little before i had bought the car!!
My payments on the lease are $284.10 (all figures in CDN dollars, roughly $1.33CDN to every $1USD) which is pretty good i think all said and done. But my insurance is going to be $333 a month PLUS taxes!!!!! The god damned insurance is more than the CAR!!!!!
So what i am wondering is this:
What you guys pay in Canada?? If in ontario, what company??
In the US?
It is amazing what they charge here, but i am not exactly the perfect driver for insurance either... i am 20, with a ticket (for 9km over!!!)

In US - Nationwide - $1197.96USD/year. Over 30; also house is insured via Nationwide; multiple policy discount; ABS/SCA/SA discount; Disabler discount; Rural County discount; Over 30 discount; save driver discount (no accidents or moving violations past 5 years). Once I have been with then over 5 years and/or get married it will go much lower.

Yes full coverage and $500 deductibles

In British Columbia, I'd end up paying 217 a month for insurance. That's comprehensive, collision and 1 million liability (will probably end up with 2 million liability, though)

I am paying a bit more than $2500 for 1 year. Not bad I think considering I am still an N and 20 years old.
That is pretty good. I'm getting a 15% discount for driving 3 years (yup, it's silly now. 5% a year only).

Roadstar after 8 years of driving... crazy... :(

I'm 20 (21 later this year), 15% discount, and I'm paying about $220 a month
Sounds about right :)

So us 20ish guys are getting 15% discounts and all paying roughly 2500 a year, or 220ish a month. British Columbia.

By the way, I don't know if I mentioned this already, but it costs 2560 to insure a 1999 Subaru Impreza L (base model Impreza) after 15% discount. Sooo...yeah... it costs the same to insure a 2004 Mazda 3 as it does to insure a 1999 Impreza.

don't forget to tell them that you have a factory PASSIVE immobilizer (if so equipped)! You'll get a few bucks off your comprehensive insurance... and actually clock the distance to and from your work/school, cause if it's under 15km, you might be able to save more.

State Farm here as well in the Tdot. Paying $220/month at the tender age of 24 with a clean driving record.

Too bad I don't live in Waterpoo or I'd be paying $174/month right now like cebo0650 does :(

Go Brick beer!
