installing BOV

How hard is it to install a BOV and how easily can I put it back to stock? Is there anyway to tell that it was there once I go back to stock. I would get the HKS and run it in recirc. Thanks

I'd also like to know and see pictures of the installation of each piece.

I know there are 2 tubes to plug back somewhere in recirc mode, but I got no clue on how to do this. I also looked in the engine bay where the stock one is and I have difficulty seeing the HKS BOV fitting there as the air box is pretty close to the stock one already.
From what I have heard, it is very easy. Mine will be in very soon, and will post up the install.

In the modification section, I do have posted, my installation of the CPE CAI.
Since I didn't have all the tools neccesary, I stopped by CFT (Central florida turbo) and they got mine on in 15 minutes. Just unscrew the 2 bolts, undo 2 clamps, put together your BOV to your flange, bolt it on, attach recirc line or insert VTA cap and you're done. I think that's it...
I plan on getting this done when I get my bonus along with a CAI and would love to see some pics of the install if anyone has done this along with a write up!!

haha cft. not laughing at you.... laughing at them. they suck at life.
dont VTA. you should be in recirc or use a hybrid BOV. as far as installing, you need to know which brand you are using for us to give you information on installation. all of them require the removal of two bolts, two hose clamps, and the TMIC cover. From there you can run into some differences. the HKS requires you to trim the length of the recirc vaccuum line, and also to install a huge snap ring in order to lock the valve in. others only require a couple bolts to their respective flange. do some research and let us know which brand you want to use and I'd be happy to walk you through a self-install. Most of them can be installed in about 30 minutes total.
Need help with installing HKS in VTA.....my choice only. Don't need to hear why not to. My question is does this require removal of stock intake? Also, where exactly does the VTA plug go?
again... you dont want to install in vta. you will backfire like a circus mule, and possibly be losing some boost. the VTA cap goes over the end of the large vaccuum line that goes into the BOV from the side of the firewall. you will have to pull off the stock intake airbox to do this.
there is a rubber piece that holds it in towards the front. it will lift off of the rest of the intake fairly simply. the HKS also requires you to lock in a pretty tough snap ring. you'll have to buy a special set of snap-ring pliers at NAPA or some place like that. make sure you lock it into place once it is inside the flange with a large flat screwdriver. the BOV should not turn inside it's flange when properly locked down.
It is extremely easy to install the HKS in recirc, I did it last Tuesday night. Keep in mind the only install I have ever done before the BOV was the CPE CAI, and it was still a sinch for a noob like me. Also to replace the factory BOV, it is easy as well...there are 2 screws holding it in place, and than you have to remove the extension from the vacuum line, attach the vacuum line, and re-attach the recirc. hose to the factory bov...Very easy, Im going to be switching mine up everytime I go into the dealership, will probably take 15-20 minutes each time.
whats the point of putting a bov on if your not going to VTA? makes sense if you get a hybrid one if you want the sound..
but recirculating doesnt change the sound thhaaat much.. seems like a waste of money IMO

and no one that i know if is planning on running crazy amount of boost yet or at all.. j/w
