In search of Gearbox options for Z6 engine

So I recently bought a 2004 mazda 3 with the Z6 1.6L engine and 4 speed auto. The car does this weird thing where it would stop moving while revving when in D.
I removed the transmission filter and cleaned the 6 solenoids and the car ran perfectly for two days before it began to act up again. I'm gonna change the transmission fluid and filter this weekend and see if I can get her driving again. If not, I'd like to find out what other gearboxes from other engines can bolt directly to the Z6 engine for me to do a manual swap. Any assistance is truly appreciated.

On the surface it sounds like your transmission fluid is either low or completely exhausted; have you checked it recently?

Regarding changing the transmission for a manual, yes, it can be done, but it is not for the faint of heart or the light of wallet; swapping the transmission is the least of your worries, messing around with the ECU and wiring harness, the dashboard changes, the mounting of a clutch pedal, and of course swapping out the console and mounting up the shifter mechanism can take weeks for an experience mechanic and months or longer for an inexperienced individual.

Long story short, fix what you've got, that will be the most cost effective solution.

When I first got the car it worked well for about 48 hrs. After that I heardthe converter whining. Drained the ATF, removed the sump, fluid seemed milky as if water got into the transmission. So I decided to remove the shift solenoids and clean them and fill some new fluid. That worked. Car ran like new. No delay in engaging drive or reverse. Hit 180km/h with the tiptronix working flawlessly. Then it acted up again a few days later. I'm yet to drop everything and see if the filter is gunked up. I know just draining the oil wouldn't get all out since the TC has oil in it too. I'm actually wanting to believe the filter is clogged again because when I did what I said I did earlier, the converter whine went away and the car worked great. Maybe the filter is clogged and it's starving for oil. Will update when I scrap everything again.
If you are getting contamination of the fluid I'd be worried about the heat exchanger in the radiator; first thing to check is if there is any oil floating on your coolant. If you see any indication of coolant/ATF mixing, it is time for a new radiator and then at least a 3X change of the ATF.

My oil cooler is separate from the radiator
UPDATE: so apparently the problem was that the old filter was pretty gunked up. So I got a new one, put some new fluid (again). I placed a new filter into the sump while I had it on the ground. Apparently the filters we get in my country (Trinidad 🇹🇹) has a longer pick up inlet that gets pressed against the sump as it gets bolted back to the transmission. I remembered this being an issue with the Ford Ranger/Mazda BT-50 that had the 5R55 transmissions. I cut about quarter inch off the inlet pickup on the new filter and also at a bit of an angle. Now the car is working very well where gear changes are concerned and the converter whine has stopped. Now I just need to repair/replace the cooling fan and coolant thermostat and shell be perfect.
