After Fedex destroyed the box and then held it all weekend :dur:, I am going to finally be able to see my exhaust tomorrow. Those bastards were supposed to get it to me on Saturday, but they tell me the box fell apart. At least I can attempt to get it on tomorrow night :hyper:. I'll post pics before and after in order to attempt to salvage a full "un-cut" factory cat-back.

I may try to take it off tonight and run with an open exhaust for a day. Now Ijust gotta wait until the damn thing cools off.

Hahaha, that is always fun. My buddy has a STi and we did the same thing...couldn't wait so we just ran off the downpipe for a couple days so that once the exhaust came we wouldn't have to fiddle with the stock one...I love the anxious excitement of waiting for car parts. Can't wait to see those pics!

OK... gonna have to cut. See for yourselves. There is no way other than dropping the entire rear to get this off.

Yeah, that rear resonator makes it impossible without dropping the rear suspension. Just make sure to cut as close to the back weld on the main muffler as you can and it should be pretty easy to weld back together.

that's what I'm going to try to do. Ihave to be sure to catch it at a right angle and on a tubular piece of piping. Otherwise there is no hope. Back to work now.

Dropping the rear suspension would probably upset the rear alignment. And even if you did drop the rear subframe or whatever you call it, the pipe from the second cat back is a long SOB to try to snake out.

I want to hear how loud it's gonna be with a 3" pipe.

Yeah... there is not a chance that I am going to avoid cutting. I decided to wait until I could install before I cut because running 0 mufflers doesn't appeal to me. Plus I have to drive like 30 miles tomorrow just to pick this thing up. I'm going to try and get it done tomorrow, but I do have some other obligations, so it might have to wait a day. I'm still mapping the cuts in my head to figure out which place is the best to slice it up. If I cut too low, I'll have to make 2. But it would make it a ton easier... cut on either side and watch it fall. God I wish I had a plasma cutter. :autoxer:

DAMN FEDEX! It would have been on today if they hadn't of held me up so long. I will post up some video bytes and pics of the process along the way.

I ordered from RPM like the 2nd day they were available. I just called Fedex to see if they held my box and they didn't. Freakin' Fedex guy is coming there and I won't be able to get it until tomorrow now. Idiots!! :bash: :rtfm:

Here is a few words of advice... tell CPE to stop shipping Fedex Ground. The Fedex people do not help, and keep throwing the "cheaper rates" in my face. They also do not update the status the same way either.

i'm guessing by the prior vid's that it will be OK. I have the CPE intake and the TurboXS pipe installed already, so my noise level will be a bit higher.

I did pick up my Sawzall today and got some carbide blades.... I'm almost ready.

RPM!!!! Stop using Fedex Ground. They cause more trouble than it is worth in the savings. Now I won't have a chance to get it until at least Friday. I was seriously considering sending it back becuase I am so pissed off. I lost all day saturday waiting and now all of today is toast. Even the frickin' USPS is better than this sevice.
