Aerodynamically speaking, they likely produce drag and increase lift at very high velocity ? LOL
Most all of these body kits are design mainly aesthetic and none I know of actually are developed in a wind tunnel or use a simulation program of air flow? I once upon a time had to take a course in Aircraft Structural Analysis and have used the Wind Tunnel at Aerojet in CA several years ago to test actual wind tunnel result on a MCS.

With all the other new things being being added to school curriculum lately, I feel it's only fair to also have our kids study the works of George Barris and Ed Roth. In a world where you go buy things and stick them on your car, there's no basis for the real thing anymore.

I think in all fairness to the op everybody has their own individual tastes in what they thinks looks good. I was in the time that a straight axle on the front of most any American heavy Metal look sexy! And then times changes and the "rake" looked was in. That period was alongside of what I thought at the time was a waste of a nice car.... "LOW RIDERS! Now I don't really criticize for someone's taste in what they choose to do or put on their cars. As my parents use to tell me often if you can't say something nice don't say anything. I know that many things I have done to some of my cars has caused a few to make less then positive comments about them, but I let them roll off my shoulder because generally they are also the ones that really should never be working on their own cars anyway.
