I have a small puncture in one of my tires that causes me to lose 1 psi a day. Can I fix this myself with one of those cans you spray inside the tire, or do I need to take it to a tire repair place.

Do you know where the leak is coming from? Have you located the puncture?

EDIT: By the way, Fix-A-Flat is neither a permanent fix nor recommended for high performance Z+ rated tires.

I know the general area. It was a small piece of metal not very deep. I pulled it out and didn't think it was enough to cause a leak but I guess it was.

I concur with redrocket, take it to a tire place and have them fix it.

You can also buy tire plugs at an auto store. That said I still recommend going to DT or somewhere similar. Incidentally if you buy tires from DT then they patch them for free, and if they can't fix it the replace it.

And to reiterate the tire goo for leaks is an emergency measure, not a fix. It doesn't last, and it makes a mess of the inside of the tire and the rim when it needs to be replaced.
