got a guy who wants to sell me a full kit for 100 bucks, he has 35w 10k and 12k. 2 questions 1) is it a good deal 2) what color are they going to look? blue purple white?
Personally, I wouldn't go for it. I'd rather have a kit that will produce more usable light. These kits are getting cheap in price. Several of our sponsors sell them for less then $100 and stand behind their product should something go wrong.

That is the Kelvin rating, and like everyone is saying, these are not bright at all, just a pretty color, it will hurt your night driving, 6000K is a very good bright white with a small hint of blue.
Yes, my 8k's are "pretty" but man, when I get outside of the city lights, I can't see very far. I imagine in San Antonio you do a decent amount of driving on darker roads. I'd go for performance first.
I think 100 dollars installed is a pretty good deal for the whole HID kit. you can just buy diff bulbs if you want. I can get you some 4300k and 6000k bulbs for cheap.
just go ahead and get the kit. You can always change up the bulbs. I just bought these 10000k for $35 from another member. i actually like them  there not as bright as my 6000k obviously, but they look pretty sweet. Pics don't do justice
