like stated in the subject...i have LED tubes connected to the cigarette socket and i want them to stay on even if the car is off...kind of sucks cause i can only charge my phone when the car is on...anyone help please
cut the power wire from the back of the socket and run a new wire to a power source that is always on. You might have to find a way through the fire wall and connect it to the positive terminal of the battery.
One good source to tap would be the dome lights. They have power at all times. If you wanted to get fancy, you could take advantage of the fact that the domes are also turned on and off when you open/unlock the doors and have your LED tubes turn on and off in synch with them. I don't know the wiring details, but a few minutes with a multimeter, and you could figure out which wires supply the power and signal.
