I had Monro mount new tires on my fiancee's OEM wheels a few days ago. When I went to pick it up, I saw that they had scratched up and chipped off a ton of paint all around the circumference of the wheel near where the tire seats - on all four wheels! The remaining paint is now all flaking and peeling off, leaving exposed metal underneath.

Her car & wheels are about 2.5 years old. The manager offered to file a claim to get the wheels repaired. Will a repair be durable and last as long as the OEM quality, or should I demand new wheels? I don't care if they're OEM, as long as they are decent wheels. What would you do???

I'm going to talk to him again tomorrow, so I need advice quick!!

Well it's great that they are offering to help repair them, so let them.

Maybe you can just get an estimate and pocket the cash, use that money to buy new wheels.

Wheels can be repaired, just see how it goes.

You can request they just replace them and see what they say, sometimes that is cheaper and less time is involved.
