I just bought a lot of stuff from dabears2k including a RKM Short Shifter. I need a knob!!!

Theme inside the car is black with touches of red. I like dark colors and such.

Suggestions for knobs go great with links!!!

Oh wow.

This looks sweet. Is it flush with the shifter's base? Will I have extra rod between the ball and the boot? (Settle down Beavis)

I just might get this.

The TWM base is smaller than the stock, but you're installing the RKM. I'm not sure how that one compares in terms of how it will mate up to the boot. If you're using the stock boot, the plastic cup is wider than the TWM knob, but not by much.

the TWM knob is also height-adjustable, so you can definitely have it sit nice and flush on the boot and not have to worry about any rod showing.

A custom boot is being made for the shifter.

you should be ok then, but I don't know if the retainer on the RKM is the same size as the stock one or not. even if it does overlap, it doesn't look completely horrible.

I was searching for some pics of the RKM to see how the boot and knobs match up and came upon this one: http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=89456.msg2774223#msg2774223
Pretty much what mine looked like with stock shifter/boot plus the TWM Type R knob before I installed the TWM shifter/boot.

I'm still liking the giant ball.

I have a red dash strip with red handles, e-brake, and steering wheel accented. The flying M on the wheel is still chromey. When I shaved the 2.3 and the guard off my doors, I took on of the 2.3 badges and stuck it right on the red dash strip lines up right next to the lcd display for the radio. I was suprised how sex it looked, so it's staying there.

Since I'll be painting the pillars black and puttng black suede on the headliner, I kinda figured the mirror finish big ass shifter ball would bring it all together nicely, especially since my boots will be black suede with red stitching.

Keeping it scratch free could be a problem. I don't wear jewelry but my stock shifter knob has all kinds of scratches on it somehow. My other option is regular black. Gunmetal wouldn't look right, Stainless looks kinda dirty-ish, and Satin wouldn't go with anything in the cabin.
