If you care about your car and how it looks I suggest taking it to a pro because they know what they are doing. You may take a hit on the pocket book, but you won't be judging your own work. What I am trying to convey is... you will notice the difference if you do it because you might not have the right "equipment" and don't want to take the time to do a fine job and will notice the flaws right off the bat - just like when you get a nice scratch that you see but others don't.

Get a quote for the cost of the repaint. If it is above your comprehensive insurance deductible, have your insurance repaint it if its that big of a deal for you.

I'd suggest you call your insurance company and try to get the deductible for comprehensive coverage to $100. Might cost ya a bit more than having it at $500 though. Comprehensive covers "flying" road debris, vandalism, etc.

Good luck!
