What do you prefer... I have asneaking suspicion the Sedan will win out.... even though I think from a design perspective the raise bonnet on the hatch looks better (and meaner) than the indented sedan bonnet!!!?

IMO the sedan looks better. That is interesting because when models come in sedan/hatch form, just about all the hatches looks heaps better. Think Astra, Focus, Corolla, Pulsar... the list goes on. Having said that, I have seen a pic of the upcoming Megane sedan, and it looks better than that derriere on the hatch (I actually don't mind the hatch... it just looks different/weird, but IMO not ugly).

i personally am not a big fan of hatches.....i dunno y.......i just really prefer the look of sedans over hatches

tho i must admit......my only complaint of the mazda3 sedan is that i find the brake lights are a little bit too high up for my taste.....but still looks great!

I decided the Sedan ages ago (at the motor show), but when I actually saw them in person at the dealer, and was allowed close up to them, the hatch really did grow on me a lot.

Still went for the sedan in the end, but it was a close thing. The main thing was that I didn't like the angle of the hatch itself - too oblique, looks a bit too much like a people mover.

The plus side of the hatch, though, is the rear window wiper on the hatch, which you don't get on the sedan.

Hatch is more 'sporty' in looks, yet the sedan is less weight and is realy on the racer's side....

I highly wish we got the SP23 badging like the Aussies get!

Hi to all as I'm a newie.

My wife and I have a '99 323 Astina 1.8 auto 40th Anniversary model (her car) and are trading it in on a Black Sp23 Hatch.

I drive a 1996 Bravo B2600 4x4 dual cab modified.

We both decided on the hatch as it looks sportier than the sedan.

We took a Lux 6 hatch,RX8 and the SP23 all for a test drive three weeks ago at Westend Nth Parramatta and the SP23 won our hearts.

So its goodbye Astina hello SP23. 8)

congrats also zooming bravo! i too compared the Mazda6 vs the Mazda3 SP23, and guess which one i chose? :) although, hatch and sedan vary so much in looks, i really wouldn't have minded if the boot of the sedan opened up much like the hatch of the Mazda6... ;)

btw, are you also on the aussie mazda forum?? (or am i confused because of similar nicks?) :?
