Went to two more body shops today. Got a quote that wasn’t outrageous.

• $383 to clean the roof rails, apply new sealant and paint.
• an additional $275 to paint the entire roof in the event it were to need it after the roof rail work
• $375 to strip and paint the hood (not needed to fix the water leak, but it’s rock chipped to hell and I’d like to have it painted at some point)

the shop that provided me with this quote has been in business for a while. They do a lot of work, I’ve heard good things about them

While I wait for the special order roof gutter trim from the dealer. I’m taking this time to completely clean the floors of the car.
I’m wire wheeling/brushing all of the rust spots that resulted from the water leak and applying the rust converter primer to them. As well as cleaning the floor where it looked like a previous owner has spilled coffee or dark soda down into the cup holders.

I’ll let the converter primer fully cure. Then go over it with some paint. Once the roof trim comes in, the car will go to the body shop. Upon its return, I’ll install a new carpet with upgraded backing for noise absorption
