You won't get more than 300 off MSRP on 2010.
23.4k OTD is a good price. 23.4k before TT&L is expensive.

according to KBB.com, invoice for a 2010 hatch sport automatic with moonroof & bose package is 20,632. it's always hard to tell how much you're saving or how much you're getting ripped off because dealers always tack on extra fees for this or that. how much was everything total out the door?

this might help you, compare that deal to this...

i bought my 2007 m3 4-door back in May '07... 2.3L, automatic, moonroof, 6cd changer, ALL black leather interior .....$20,000 flat

for all these features that i requested the price was almost at $24,000 at the original dealer i went to first, but i took the written statement to two other dealers in the Orlando area and gave em the whole "Can you do better than this?" and of course they would drop the price, until i went back to the original dealer and they had no choice but to give it to me for $20,000 (which was what i originally intended for, i was not going to pay over $20K). i really do wish i had the Bose system :( but i'm really happy with my car, i love it, got some great mods on it.

now...
i think that the 2010 model features your going for is balanced with my m3 considering i have the leather interior and you have the Bose. but i could see yours being just a little over $20,000 considering it's a 2.5L, but i wouldn't pay $23,400 for the car your looking for. i'd negotiate the heck out of it.

good luck man!

well since i havent gotten the car or signed any contracts yet i havent seen any of the fees. I just put a down payment for when the car comes in, so they can hold it for me, which is 100% refundable.

From what I've seen the willingness to deal on 2010 models at this time of the year is pretty low, at least while the dealer still has 2009 stock on their lot.

We just picked up (3 weeks ago) a 2009 GT Hatch (w/ moonroof and bose 6cd package) for my wife. saved a fair bit over what a 2010 would have run us

price was 21995 - a 1500 rebate from Mazda, for a net of basically 20500*

title and license cost a few hundred more, but that much was actually fairly cheap, I think under $200 net (paid more, but then got a refund from dealer when they sent the plates)

The 2010 has some new stuff, but for myself I generally avoid brand new tech in the first year of deployment, seems there are always a few bugs, and well I deal with enough of that in my job as a software tester, I don't want to file bug reports on my car. so I'll let someone else deal with v1 issues. (eg while the new stuff added on 2010 is nice, I'd just as soon wait a few years till they've fixed any issues with it)

Chuck

*note that this price is before the insane nearly 10% WA sales tax. so yeah title and tabs cheap, sales tax, not so much. and we pretty much can't avoid paying it, if I bought out of state I'd still get nailed for the tax the moment I went to register it, which I'd have to do within like 60 days of bringing it into the state.. oh well at least we don't have an income tax)

I picked up my 2010 GS with 5speed sport auto trans, Cruise, AC, engine for 25K cash.

Going by the mazda website it's 26,798 + according to the dealer i dealt with it was 27 and change. So I would like to think i got a good deal. If not, well it's a beauty to drive so i still got my moneys worth : )
