I just pulled up the carpet just enough to get my hand all the way to the little slit that's already in the carpet under the seats. It will retain it's shape even if you manhandle it. You just have to take the sills and kick panels and little poppers off first.
Like he said. Grab the door sills and pull up. They're attached by about three tension clips and will come right off. Then you can just the wire under the carpet and get it to come out where the stock wiring is.
