i would like all your opinions on a trunk popper kit that will retain your factory key remote buttons. it will be a full kit with everything you need including instructions, with pictures. install time is approximatly 3 hours. this kit will alow you to pop the trunk by hitting the unlock button on your remote 2 times. it will take me a bit to get it all together. possibly a week or two. if there is enough intrest i will post pics. i would also like to know what you guys would think to be a fair price to pay for such. and if you have any questions or concerns please post.

Re: GI.... sedan trunk popper kit

the button sequence gets changed. one press will unlock all doors, two presses will pop the trunk. i will try and get pics up today of the inside of the trunk.

Re: GI.... sedan trunk popper kit

that's interesting....that's always something i kinda wanted.

but i like this idea better

press once for driver door

press twice for all doors

press/hold to open trunk...

unless press/hold opens windows right now...on one of my old cars it did that, never tried with the 3

Re: GI.... sedan trunk popper kit

i cannot change the way the buttons work except one click all doors open, two clicks and the trunk pops. ive looked everywhere for somebody that can change the programing beyond that point, but have found nobody yet. price range im looking at is around 50 bucks, it will all depend on whether my supplier can get the same popper that i am using, but in a larger quantity. pics are coming later today.

I am also interested. This is my number one complaint other than the stupid automatic transmission.

Re: GI.... sedan trunk popper kit

I might be interested depending on price and difficulty of the install. One question, though. Will I still be able to use the trunk release lever next to the driver seat or will I need to use the remote for that from inside the car?

yes you will still be able to use your release by the drivers seat, along with the keyhole in the trunk.

there is no reprogramming of the remote. this involves tapping into two wires below the dash on the passengers side.
i am aiming to make this a totally DIY project maybe a 6/10. required tools will be a drill with 1/4" drill bit to drill two holes for mounting, and a few hand tools to remove inner trim panels, and also the rear seat back so the wire can be run beside it. i will provide very detailed instructions alon with pics.
