[Troublesome]

Rotten luck...bad week at work, and to top it off, I was driving the Speed3 home this morning, and I had a suicidal bird run out into the road in front of me. So why did the chicken cross the road? Apparently to become my Speed's breakfast. I didn't even have enough time to react until after it attempted to become my new hood ornament.

Anyway, the black mesh in between the foglights is cracked through about three or four of the "cells". Just glancing at the bumper, it looks like this piece is held in with clips. My question is for those of you who have taken your bumpers off, is this piece easily removed and replace? Or is the bumper one whole piece? My hopes are that it is a replacable piece that I can just buy from Mazda and change out myself. (and yes, I know the car is nasty...the bugs were out in force last night, so please forgive me)

yep, happened to my 05 mazda 3s one day, i was so pissed but as long as it didn't actually take out a whole section (only broke a few connecting pieces) then you can actually just pull it back into line and you won't notice it. maybe you can get a custom grill!!! :lol: that would look nice, better than black plastic imo

If it were mine, I'd mix up some epoxy, put it on the edges of the broken cells, put them back together, wipe off the excess, and forget about it for a few hours. If you do it right, you won't even be able to tell.

Worth a shot IMO. That bumber has to be high dollar. Worst case it doesn't work/hold and you go the other route.

I hit a piece of truck tire on the highway in my 06 s and it broke the black mesh on the front. The whole piece just clips in. I got a replacement from Mazda for under $50 if I remember right and replaced it myself. I'm assuming the MS3 is the same.

you could always take this as a sign to be creative and do something custom with that section of the bumper. no clue what but figured why not since its broke...

worst case you mess the current up and just buy a new one which you planned on anyways...

Either that or the epoxy route would probably work well and almost be invisible. although we all know everytime you look at it, its going to drive you nuts... hahahaha

Looks like a case for a little cyanoacrelate (aka Superglue). Should work just fine. Just remember less is more with that stuff.

Well .. both . I'm deathly allergic to cats so i left it for a few days till my friend came over and I got him to pick out the cat hair
