I am awaiting a Forge BPV from Street Unit and I have some questions before I get it. I've read numerous places about springs, what is the deal with those? The color I hear used most often is the blue spring, any confirmation or experiences with other colors? Also is there any way that a leaking stock BPV can cause the car to run rich between shifts? I'm just looking to get ready so when the part comes I'll be ready for a quick install. :)

I doubt a lot will respond since this has been beaten to death. You really need to search. Forge Spring is all you need to type in and see 30 threads about it. Please don't be one of the lazy ones.

I did a search on this topic. I can't believe all the threads that has been started on this subject. I think I got all the information I need to move forward. I must say that it's hard to believe that so many that has similar mods choose a different spring.

Its easy! Don't get a Forge. Get a HKS.
[/quote]

HKS is not part of a college student's budget, so for effectiveness, build qualiy and price...it had to be the Forge

Blue with 2

After looking at all the mods you have, I am sure the "Blue with 2" will work with your Speed3. My car will have the basics (Cobb SRI, Cobb Turbo Inlet Tube, and the Forge BOV). I will first try the Blue with nothing else.

Yup, used to be mine... but I have a AP and went back to stock BPV.

I just got the Forge in today. I know I will probably use theblue spring but how do you know whether or not the tension is right? I don't want to have the tension too high or else it won't open correct? And that would be bad. I'm going to install Blue with 1 right now and see how that goes.

Tried the blue with 2 and it was fluttering a lot, so I went with the red and no shims. Car feels great, pulls harder longer, is there anything bad that can happen with the red spring? I looked at my exhaust and it doesn't seem to be running any richer in terms of color or backfireing. I think the red is going to work out unless someone has any other info.

I thought that some surge is good and no surge at all is bad, when you go with a heavier spring, since it is simply closing and you have a better chance of it bouncing and reversing the turbo.

Unless of course you want to pay less for something just as good. Then stick with the Forge.
