I have just installed the factory alarm by myself. It is not hard to install it.

The factory alarm system is made in JAPAN. Not those made in Australia.
Also, there are rooms for the factory alarm unit to mount on the car you dont even need to drill a hole on the car. Also, you DON'T need to use a wire cutter and PVC tape because you don't need to cut a wire. Everything fit perfectly.

The only thing is the functions of the alarm are not enough and quite expensive.

If you looking for a alarm, i suggest you to get a factory one.

I made a mistake, the alarm system is not for consumer. you need to find someone can buy it for you..

Just another thing to note is that some insurance companies need the alarm to be professionally installed to be able to give the rebates for it.

M6Gr8 the factory Alarm was around $500 installed option when I asked about it.

Where did you mount it Howard?
Does it just plug into the loom somewhere?

Can I just say that the Mazda alarm is very suave. Tho does not have a garage of features, it has everything you need. The best thing about a Mazda alarm in my opinion is the very classy sounding beeps and alarm tone. Also, love how the doors lock by themselves and the alarm auto-arms after 20 or so secs. and of course, you only carry one keyfob.

for the battary backup silern, there is a factory mounting for you under the car battary. FOr the alarm unit which is under the grove box in the passenger side. and all wirings are done in the passenger side too. The only thing that you need to do in driver side is to put the alarm LED light there.

Just thought I'd add my bit.

Just had a WERX BHSS270A installed. It's a 2way paging, remote start unit. Bought it online for $450 and cost me another $200 to have installed.

It tells me everything that is going on with my car when I am not there. I also start the car up in the early mornings so that by the time i get downstair and go for a drive its all warmed up. And the remote is just damn sexy.

Bought it from:

I haven't heard of that alarm system sik riq...

And i don't trust the reliability, performance of things i haven't heard of...

I personally am getting a factory upgrade on the existing fob. all done for $400, which includes all the normal functions of an alarm, automatically locking after 30 secs, backup siren etc etc...

As well as 4 window lifters!!! :D :D

The brand is anti theft. That brand is only available to traders...

Black widow, rhino and several other alarm companies buy this system off anti theft and then re-batch it as their own, with minor additions to it.

In NSW you're allowed to have a turbo timer, so it's not an issue here. Seems strange that they'd be illegal as they only run the car for a few minutes after you get out and then kill the engine. I guess someone could jump in and drive off but they wouldn't get far in 3 minutes.

I think the problem with remote start especially in a manual car is if you leave it in gear when you are parked, the car can lurch forward

...probably not the best thing if it is parked against a wall and somebody is walking past the front of it at the time when you hit the button on the fob....

hey, Siq Rik

the alarm doesnt sound to bad really... and the price for the features seems fairly good.

does it give you a keyfob informing you of which area of your car has been attempted to break in? or does it just vibrate?
