(05 Mazda 3 Hatchback 2.3L base model automatic transmission)
I live in a cold climate and it was -10 F this morning and had no issues then (approx. 5 hours prior) and for my 20 min drive to work. My key light came on after parking and turning off my vehicle for a quick stop. After coming back I noticed my vehicle didn't crank and just turned the aux power and lights on. After I had disconnected and reconnected the battery, locked and unlocked the doors with my FOB ( I use a physical key to crank the car, no push start) and moved the gear shift from Park to Drive and slowly back up ( I noticed my AT light was on) the vehicle cranked. The key light then proceeded to stay on and flash while I drove back to work (approx. 10 min). I haven't seen anything along these lines in the forms I've read prior to posting, if anyone has an idea of what's wrong or if I should call a dealership i'd be very thankful.

Okay, you didn't say that at first.

See if the alternator is charging correctly. Take a voltage at the battery key on engine off. Should be 12.6-ish VDC.
Now crank the car and take the voltage again. Should jump to 13.6 VDC or greater.

Put a volt meter on it and it read well. Light didn't come back on for the drive home. I'll keep an eye on it, thank you for the advice. 😊

Maybe it was just to cold I seen mine do strange things in the cold. Try disconnecting your battery overnight and then let it sit and idle for a while and then turn on ac and do the same and then drive it do each step like 15 to 20 mins sometimes when u replace the battery it needs to relearn everything. Mine I have to do this if I disconnect the battery something that has to do with the computer relearns the key and idle pattern I don’t know mine I have to redo the key fob ever time too. Where u have to turn key on 3 times and then open the door till it cycle’s and then all functions will work again idk it’s did not do till I replaced the battery
