Am I the first? Was doing 60 in a 45, speed limit changed to 35, and about 10 feet after it changed a cop was sitting there waiting for me :(. He got me going 59.75 in a 35 (in PA they don't use radar except on the highway, they time you over a certain marked distance).

For a change I got a nice cop, he bumped me dowon from about 25 over to 5 over, no points and insurance never finds out, just have to pay my stupid $107 fine.

Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later, the car is too much fun to drive fast!! :klavergreg:

consider yourself lucky. In VA that's considered reckless (anything over 80mph or over 20MPH over the limit)

Yeah.. it was a state trooper, too. It was like $80 cheaper than a ticket I'd got previously, going 53 in a 45..

Really?? Aren't radar detectors illegal there too? Are VA's traffic laws written by Nazi's?!

same here, after researching for a new radar detector for over a week now, Ive come to the conclusion that the V1 is still the best out there. The bogey counter and directional arrows are huge helps. If I lived In VA id rock the Bel STi driver though, totally stealth to radar detector detectors.

Well, in SC, I read in the paper that they are debating on lowering the speed limit on one of the local interstates due to speeders.

They clocked someone at 141 mph, and have ticketed drivers for up to 121 mph

Apparently, 122 and you're good to go.. haha

[/quote] At 122 if the trooper tried to pull out on you, and you kept your speed up, he's not catching you. By the time he got to speed you'd be miles down the road, and he'd have to do 140 or better just to catch you. The only option at that point is to radio ahead, and that's provided there's someone up there to block you.

eah - while true i'd go with the V1 just because they WILL make it undetectable at some point. Who knows. But that STi is tempting.

I have the Escort Passport 8500. The wife got it for me as a gift, I absolutely love it. Although I do love the V1's arrows. Just a question of her not wanting to spend the extra $100 on the V1. I am definitely satisfied with the Escort. I only wish that on PA side roads the cops used radar instead of taking f'ing times so that it would help me around town!!!

Oh well, either way you still have to be smart. I could have easily avoided the ticket I got, but I had my head up my arse and wasn't paying attention.

Well, I can tell you a NJ trooper nailed me at 115 around 2am and he was the only trooper to show up so I doubt it was a radio job. He caught up on me big time. You got to remember, a few miles on an interstate highway is nothing and those troopers are not exactly driving stock crown vics. Oh, for the record, I was driving a somewhat new Lincoln TC :D

officially ordered the V1 with the concealed display tonight. hard to drop that kind of money on a mod that doesnt net any HP or make the car handle better, but my current detector is almost 10 years old and the ms3 deserves the right equipment. ;)

Btw, I think you are the first, I didn't get mine until Jan 6th.

Wow, almost $900, I can't get over that. Unbelievable!!

the speed posted on the ticket is 104 MPH. Since i don't live in the area of where i got the ticket, all i got was a bill. I think it's 2 points. (I'm screwed!!!) :(
