does anyone know of any ram air style air intakes? or are these not provided because I would imagine they are prone to hydrolocks etc?

Ram air if designed properly isn't prone to hydro lock at all (far from it) nor is it prone to soaking air filters.
No, I have not seen any for our car. A big 'knock' against ram airs on a lot of cars is they either require cutting the hood or else a replacement hood. This increases the difficulty and permenance of install as well as the cost.
Not many people want to pay $400 for an intake (if not new hood) to $1500 for an intake (with new hood if CF).
