I remember reading in Car and Driver that the boost is dialed back in first gear (and maybe even second gear) to keep torque steer down.

My 45 hp 84' Mazda GLC had the worst torque steer. It had unequal-length half shafts, which made for really bad torque steer.

I have some torque steer when making fast lane changes under power in my non-turbo 3. It makes it hard to do the lane change cleanly. I would hate to see what another 100 hp does for this.
