Dealer has fix for P2006 CEL - new IMRC units are in !!!

MS3 Regarding the P2006 CEL - went into the dealer today, they "replaced IMRC unit with new updated part" 0.6 hrs labor (free - covered under warranty)
The part number is LEK9-20-170
CEL is gone, the car definitely has better pick-up, plus I reset the trip computer and it was 3 mpg better than normal after I got home (29 mpg - combined driving) so I suspect it has somehow leaned the car out a little. 2nd gear was spinning the tires way more easily and I was spinning them in 3rd also which rarely ever happened before.
I know 20 miles of driving isn't really much to go on but these are my initial findings - will keep you up to date after I get some more miles on it. So far: :D :D :D :D :D

that's great news - thanks for sharing.
When my cel goes away..during nice warm days like today. I get a lot more power across the gears.

thanks for the update Josh :)
I called my dealer today and she said that Mazda did not know about this part. So I am going to wait for it 2 weeks.
The cel is gone now, since the weather is warmer here in NC.

dont see how this affects power since this part is a swirl valve for emissions. its not an "OMG +20hp +30tq" mod.

my guess is they reset your ECU and it learned a new mapping.

Forgive me for asking if this has been posted elsewhere (did a search and didn't come up with it). How is the naming convention of the tsb numbers set up?

I'm assuming that the last two digits are the year but what is the correlation/organization of these codes. They all are broken down as "xx-xxx/xx" and there is surely a reason as such but I've yet to determine what it is.

Also - just did a few searches as well as looked in the normal places and didn't come up with the actual TSB form for 01 010 07 - not to say it hasn't been issued as you would know better than anyone else...just interested in reading it. I imagine that these things take time to make there way online. How long after issue do they normally appear online in the usual spots? Are there some sites that are more reliable than others in terms of posting them?

Do you have to throw the CEL to get the part replaced or are they doing a general recall?

its not a recall its a tsb so that means if you get the code this is how we fix it so yes you need the code.

Okay, here's what my work order says:

"Retrieved code P2006 - Per bulletin needs new VRIS actuator. Installed updated actuator."

He stated on the phone that the ECU had to be flashed, but there is no mention of it on the paperwork.

its part of the same step so normally they won't put it by itself but the tsb says to replace part reflash ecu so if they did the bulletin your good
