DDM VS Apexcone

2446 Views 41 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  Ferdball
Hello guys

I'm looking to get a set of HID for my fog lights and another set for my Low beam.

I'm hesitating between DDM and Apexcone.
DDM is a lil more expensive with slimmer box

Is there any differences in quality and performance?

Thanks in advance!

Apexcone is a hassle. Ballasts are big.

I'm just telling you, don't order from DDM Tuning unless you want a 2 week wait for your order to ship.
So what would you suggest then?

dabears2k.com

Ships next day
Or stay away from Apexcone forever. I love them, however I hate their "Lifetime Warranty".
BTW. i did get my fogs from DDM tuning i got mine in enough time for me. I did not mind the longer wait for shipping. but i did save a bit of money. :)

no longer do you save though. DDM is $70 + 25 for harness. We are $95 including the harness.

I know they were then. Prices have since gone up on DDM ;)
I don't get it, what's the big deal with apexcone?

Apexcone ballasts have dropped in quality and we don't carry them anymore. DDM is slimmer but unless you want to wait 3 weeks for your kits don't order from DDM Tuning. We don't use them anymore because they are always backorder and warranty exchange take forever...

http://www.xenonexpert.com/ddm_kit_sale.html Next day shipping too :)

Apexcone is a "premium" brand hid kit, so in other words a marketing ploy.
Apexcone used to be a very good brand, but like Oliver said, they have dropped in quality.

haha, that's not true AT ALL. THe apexcone ballasts have a lower fail rate than the DDM ballasts. Always have and always will. (.015 vs .02%) A full size ballast with the same quality components as a slim will always last longer due to cooling ability.

The ONLY reason we don't carry the apexcone is that they are full size and a pain to mount.
Damn, well I guess I'll have to upgrade to DDM when my Apexcone fails lol...

Old DDM kits no. They go to DDM. New DDM orders go to new supplier.
