Although the gauges look incredible as they are, I noticed a lot of people were interested in the Gauges I made for the ZX2 gauge clusters. I can put anything in the background you wanted, and have them lighted anyway they want. Is it possible to do a similar thing for the mazda 3 gauges? Are they just faces with bulbs behind them? If so, I would like to see if anyone is interested.

at this time, they would probably go for around 50. but if you supplied me with the 'blueprint' or original look and size of the gauge cluster layout, you probably would owe nothing. i guess i could go to a junkyard and see if it's possible to rip the gauge faces out of one.

Yeah lol I got the older escort templates from the erdt board. I'll create some photoshop examples of what i was thinking about doing.

yeah the flame design would really look good... despite throwing off the color sheme in our cars maybe just a little (with yellow and all). Unfortunately, i don't knwo what pita is, but since i really am not good at electronic soldering and whatnot, these would actually replace your stock faces. Little risky i know, but it was really worth it when done right. There's a thread somewhere of how to at least get the gauge cluster out.

Here's a flame idea i whipped up:

It think it may be better to change the lights/lines for speedometer, rpm, gas, and temp to blue or something, or vice versa (make the flame blue)

just forget the stock cluster for a moment. the only picture i have of the stock cluster was the original of all these, and they dont have the backlight on

here... that's as close to stock as i can get them, except for the 3:

I just need someone to be brave and take out their stock gauges. They get a set of customized ones for free to help me out. The easiest way to remove the stock ones is by cutting a straight line towards the middle of the gauge.. which would then give you the ability to pull out the gauge face without removing the needle. I'm afraid of doing at this point, though.

funny you mention that. Someone really wanted three nude chicks, one on each gauge, in the background in the zx2 days. They actually bought them and put them in their car. i wish i could find the picture of that, man was that great. one of them was that teen kelly girl or whatever.... couldn't remember the other two.
