there is no such detector model xrs9700. it appears to be an xrs9730 which retails for $200 on the cobra website. is this too good to be true? is it an older model? any feedback because i plan on purchasing this soon if all is good.

I would email the seller. He has a really good rating, so if you ask him, I'm sure he'd be straight with you. Can't hurt to ask before you shell out the dough.

Does not seem that cobra detectors get good reviews. I would keep looking even if the price is hard to beat.

i have an escort x50 8500, and although it has been useful at times, so many cops and troopers here in MN turn their's on and off driving in the opposite direction and use laser traps that its just not worth playing the game with a detector.

LMAO... NO... You can?! I've never had one, so I really am clueless about them. That would work awesome then. She doesn't ride in the 3 that much anyways, its just me... except for when we go places together, or grocery shopping or something. Thanks for the info. I feel like a radar detector noob... (which I am!)

Don't buy 2nd best when it comes to detectors. You will live to regret it. Spend the extra cash and buy a new Valentine 1. I've been using their stuff for years and it's the best.
And yes, there is a mute button.

Escort 8500 x50 or 8500 or the Beltronics RX 65 , STi or the v1 will all do you just fine. I've used the Whistler 1770 and 1670 both under $100 both work like a champ. Just know you have ALOT of options out there.

Saved my ass coming back from Texas a few times. BMW 5 series and I were tearing ass thru southwestern MO for a good 100 miles or so, and it saved both of us a few times.

the cobras aren't so bad..most of the time if you look out for cops like i do then you'll be fine..but wen you're off guard my cobra helps out..saved me a few times in school zones

lol..no i dont go like 50 or anything like that on school zones..and no not on elementary school zones..there are way too much speed bumps to be goin even over 10..on high school zones i go 30 or sometimes 35..and c'mon i doubt high skool kids are dumb enough to jump out on the streets and walk strate across a car that's moving..25 is too slow for me and it seems like my car's not even moving
