Hey guys, because I doubt I can sell my car in this nasty financial crisis. I'm planning to take my 07 ms3 with me when I go back to korea after graduation So i'll sell my greddy ti-c cbe and wheels in a few weeks and planning to purchase cobb ap with that money and bring it with me.

The reason why I'm considering to purchase cobb ap is because it offers a map for better gas mileage. Since the gas price is about twice expensive there, I would like to know how it truely effects gas mileage.

And also, the reason why I'm selling my cbe is to pass the "immigration", and to pass it, the car is supposed to be stock. I "believe" my mazdaspeed cai will look fine when they are testing it. Anyway I'm currently running short ver of mazdaspeed cai with rpmc turbo inlet. Is there appropriate maps for this setting? I only see maps for Mazdaspeed CAI2. and I don't really understand the meaning of CAI2.

Thanks guys.

Save yourself hundreds of dollars, and just have a light foot...lol. I don't see much purpose in the economy map personally. MSCAI2 just means you need to have the air straightner installed in your intake. Hence, the "ver2" of the intake. You would be fine with Stage1+MSCAI2 even with the inlet. I ran it with mscai2, inlet, and racepipe no problem.

It will get you 1 mpg at best. Definately not worth it and you are not supposed to run that map with any mods.

"Economy mode requiring minimum 91 octane fuel. Low boost, increased ignition timing, & leaner fuel curve for optimal fuel savings. Not a performance map and not recommended for aggressive driving." that was the only description about the map. Thanks a lot for the info!!

I tried the econo map (v103) for a couple days in my modded MS3. I got 15.5 L/100km in that few days where with the stage2+SF 91 v103 I get about 11-12 L/100km.

so its .155 L/1KM which means 6.45 KM/L and I assume that's REALLY BAD. are you sure about this?

Yes. And I was actually taking it easier than normal for fears of running lean. I tried accelerating once with econo map on just to see what it would do, and the 5000rpm rev limit really scared me. I didn't know there was a rev limit till I actually read the map notes, lol.

either way its not worth spending $550+ to get an extra couple mpg at best... it's not made to be a economy mod lol

yeah I know :) performance is priority and i just wanted to check if the economy mod actually works. I'm deciding between dp or ap. Anyway thanks for your info guys!
