Clutch peddle is sooo heavy! My leg gets tired in traffic, any ideas?

I'm new to the forums, but i love em already! I got my 04' 3s about 1 1/2 years ago, and my clutch is so heavy, i hate to drive sometimes. Does it sounds like an aftermarket clutch was put in from the last owner, or do all 3s's have this heavy clutch issue?

maybe you need to hit the gym? :)
Mine feels like that as well. The resistance on my pedal is significantly higher than other mtx 3s that I've drove, even a speed3. Sometimes I also wonder if the previous owner put in an aftermarket clutch in. I've owned the car for about a year now and I've came to live with it. You'll get used to it eventually.
yeah i'm used to it now, i still hate to drive sometimes... wish my motorcycle was out of the shop so i could hop on that and use my hand for the clutch :D I'll drive my fancee's car and it doesn't even feel like it has a clutch pedal, its like i'm moving my foot out of habit >.<

Id say grow a pair!
I've heard they get stiffer with age (not sure why that would happen). I drive an 09 and my GF drives an 07 with about 36K on it and hers is a lot stiffer. I actually like hers better.
My stock clutch is about 1/4 as tough to push in as the aftermarket clutch in my mx6. That thing is a bitch to drive in traffic.
yeah anyone who has had an older car or one with and upgraded clutch will tell you that these stock mazda 3 clutch pedals are super light in comparison. I find it very light compared to my previous car which was a mid 80's Nissan.
i know what ur talking about when im standing on my clutch for a while it does tire my leg out but im never on the clutch if im at a super long light i wont engage the car in 1st ill just step on the break.

in traffic i wont move up if the car moves like 5 feet (unless some jerk off is trying to cut in when im trying to get somewhere) ill just wait n move up when its worth while or when traffic seems to start moving.
