Hi, just wondering if anyone here works for a mazda dealership? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the checklist that they have to go threw before they put it out to sell.
another side note, are there any other mazda3 board more focused on the technincal side?. like debadging, engine mods etc.. I'm thinking ofr running it for 1000km for the breaking and then switching to moble1 synth oil. dont realy notice to much technical talk on this board

With time there'll be more tech talk. In the meatime, the edmunds community tends to have some very well informed patrons, although they don't seem to be too enthusiastic about modifying. You may want to try it out there.

Good luck. Jeff.

tech-talk can be many things, and there are plenty of forums on here that encompass everything you'll want to know. OR you could always be the innovative one and try some of it yourself, and tell us how to do it :)

The checklist you refer to in your post should be in the delivery packet when you buy your car.

Make sure you get 3 keys when you buy your car. Two primary and one valet key. They are "chip" keys and they are not cheap.

The 2.3 in the 3 is very similar to the L3 engine in the Mz6. I noticed the 3 engine has COP vs plug wires on the 6. This may make a ignition upgrade difficult. Cold air intakes and other minor mods are posted on the Mz6 site.

I'm sure that the mods for one should generally work for the other.

Just post here when you have something in mind. Lots of smart folks here.

Btw I do work at a Mz dealership.

I guess he was refering (sp?) to me :)
Not sure if this is directed to me, but, dinu, you are a very well informed edmunds member!

I find that these forums are far better for discussing a great variety of topics as edmunds' board format allows only 1 or 2 topics to be discussed, as such, their discussions can get very technical (and I'm not as inclined to participate).

rocketman... feel free to post topics you want to get answered. I'm sure there are enough people on these boards to answer any question, technical or non-technical.

I don't remember receiving a valet key for my Tribute when I received it ... Are they required for hatchbacks as well, or only for cars with trunks?
Generally the "valet" feature allows you do disable the trunk in the car. Since the Trib doesn't have a trunk it only gets 2 keys.
