Forgive me if this has already been discussed, I searched but didn't see any definitive answers. Since the fuel computers have been able to be unlocked, I was wondering if the same could be done for CD changers. My single disc stock radio has the "load" buttons as well as "disc up" and "disc down", which makes me wonder if the unit the same as a 6 disc unit, with only the functionality disabled? I could be totally wrong, but figured I'd ask.

yea, i have a satellite button, but i don't have the receiver for the satellite radio. mazda just made a universal head unit that they could add on to depending on wanted options to save money.

Yes skunk2 is right. The most obvious differences are the "dummy" button next to the load button is blank for a single CD or it will have the legend 6-disc in dash, see pics, & the way the CD is loaded. For a single CD player when you insert the CD it will go in about half way & then be drawn into the player. With the 6 CD changer you cannot insert the CD first, there is a stop preventing insertion. The load button is pressed first & when the screen says insert CD you can insert the CD into the slot.
Hope this helps.
