Can stock HID housings be mounted to a non hid 3 without the levelers?

By this you mean what exactly? A real HID projector ??(ie: you'll have to retrofit it) or a complete 07' HID light assembly?

Just an 06 hid stock headlamp. Not just the projector. the entire housing.

yes, it's a direct bolt on.

I'll be working on this exact mod this weekend. I've got some OEM HID internals and will bolt them up in the halogen housings on my Mazdaspeed3. Actually, I'll open up a cheaper/donor halogen housing first before I even attempt to touch the one on my car first.

If you want I can photograph and document the whole process if all is well.

There is a thread in exterior lighting faqs, and i have pics of the motor removed. The housings are the same and will fit. I bought a used hid off ebay and cracked it open. Wasnt as easy as I hoped, so i dont plan on craking mine open. My car came with one leveler, and i wanted to install the one from the other. It was a bitch to remove the motor. But looks like you wanna gut it all anyways.

Yea, i dont care about the levelers or anything, just pull out my light, install the hid lamp. and then manually align them.
