Alright, so I have my intake installed. As a first time CAI install for me, it was a PITA. Just like the boost guage, just like anything I guess. The instructions, while somewhat helpful, could have been much more helpful in certain areas, such as how to remove the factory scoop. "Remove the three bolts" when they are located in funky, hard to find places and one is a clip is not that helpful. Actual diagrams of this would have been nice. Also, when positioning the CAI and checking for clearance before tightening everything down: 1) make sure that you do that with the car in 1st or 3rd, so that the linkage is fully forward; and 2) position the CAI as far away from the linkage as you can. Otherwise, you might put tiny dents in your CAI as the linkage smacks into it when you're shifting hard. End rant.

Anyway, I definitely have more power, more boost more easily, etc. and am very happy with the result. I kind of like the blow-off sounds and all that. Can't hear the whine (worked in a tire store as teenager and can't hear those frequencies well), but I can hear lots of intake noise. One thing I wasn't expecting is that when on boost the intake noise has a tinny sound, almost like when a drummer hits the highhat. Previously, I rode in an MS6 with an MS-CAI and I don't remember hearing that sound at all. Does everybody have this same sound? At first I thought it was rattling up against something, but I rechecked the clearance and even when I shake it vigorously it's not hitting anything.

I have to agree, the CP-E instructions seem to leave out half of the info you really need to install the intake and they do things in a weird order. The filter should be installed onto the intake BEFORE putting it in the car as it is much more difficult to install it once the pipe is in the car.

Did you have any issues with the PCV line being in the way of the side piece of the intercooler cover?

I can definitely hear the whistle of the TC and the woosh of the stock BOV. For those looking for these sounds, they are only a CAI away. There is no need for an aftermarket BOV.

Definitely, I couldn't find a way to make it not do that, either. It's pushing it up and rattles against it. Looking at the MS-CAI I noticed that the nipple coming off the main tube is is angled AND the PCV valve goes straight onto it. Those are nice touches, I think.

No cymbol sound, hunh? Yeah, must be my hearing loss leaving out the higher notes.

i was one of the first people to have the CPe and install it. It was VERY straightforward other than the filter installation. i have 2K on it and there are no hoses rubbing, and nothing rattling.

it is a great piece of machinery.

I never said it was hard, but the instructions are definitely not as good as they could be.

How sure are you that the PCV hose is not pressing on the underside of the intercooler cover? Mine does not make any noises, but it is definitely pressing on it.

I have no quibble most of the install, including the filter install, and definitely not with with the functionality. But, you call the airscoop removal straightforward? Maybe if you have it on a lift and can easily see where everything is attached and how to get to it. For me, working in the wheel well on a jackstand, a little more step-by-step with pix would have been very helpful and saved a lot of aggravation.

when i first installed mine the 2 pieces were touching at the coupler. when i would accellerate it would make a tinging noise. you could check that.

I's trying to determine if I'm hearing what I should be with the MS CAI... Can some folks post links to vids or sound clips of just the MS CAI installed??

From what I have read, it should sound like "air through a metal straw/sucking sound followed by a "pfsst when changing gears?? It seems I only here the pfsst sound when accelerating - possible leak??

Hang on - maybe I'm OK.. In this vid - it sounds to me that the sound while accelerating is the same sound (damn close) when changing gears??? Is that correct.
