So i was excited when my AP came today. Downloaded all the new firmware and ran to the car. Wait nothing's happening.....ok step 1.....is it plugged in? YES. step2......is the car in the "on" position? YES. WTF??? Repeat steps 1 and 2 NOTHING! So i go inside beat the wife, kick the dog and grab a cold beer and call COBB. "Sir you must have a faulty AP" as if i did'nt notice. Ok well send me a new one. "That will be 3-5 business days" The fuck it will!!! Overnight it!!! "we can do that but you have to pay for shipping" so you mean to tell me YOUR part is faulty and you wont even overnight me a new one? "that is correct" After an exchange of words i bit the bullet and paid the 41 Fuckin dollars for shipping. Moral of the story. Cobbs customer support sucks! Because of them my wifes unconscious, my dog has 2 broken ribs, and more importantly i have no AP!

no worries plenty of beer! I waited at home looking out the window waiting for UPS. Finally got it, and then COBB kicked me in the balls! How something brand new can be broken pisses me off!

I don't think that its unreasonable for them to deny overnight shipping. Most companies will not overnight you a replacement product. Now if your car wouldn't start as a result of the AP I would hope things would be different.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. If you send me something that is "Defective" It should be replaced with the utmost of importance.

So you think they should overnight you a new one, while you still have the defective one? I've never heard of a return/exhange policy that works like that. Your lucky to even get another one before you ship your original back. I'd put money on it, two standbacks wouldn't be sent to the same person for the price of one. Or any part for that matter. Did anything show up on the screen when you plugged it into your car?

On a serious note, I would have to side with Cobb on not overnight shipping for free. Staying in business these days means there are certain things you can't do. In the end you are getting another AP correct? this is the important thing.

no nothing on the screen! By the way. The 1st one was paid for. I told them I'm going to buy another one and that i'd send them the "Defective" one back. I dont see the problem in that

Oh, I thought you were demanding they send you a new one (while you kept original), and you only pay shipping. Didn't know you payed for the 2nd AP itself. By the time you install a map, I'm sure you'll quickly forget about this little headache. Enjoy it man, good choice.

They didn't screw you dude, get over it. No reason for them to pay for overnight shipping when they already have a good return policy.

They are shipping you another AP for Free (you opted otherwise) which if you think about it does indeed cost money to do no charge to you. Shipping does not come free for them ya know. Ordered mine on monday afternoon and it arrived on wednesday

How does that kind of customer service suck? Ordered mine on Monday afternoon and it arrived on Wednesday morning. Unless it is imperative that you receive it overnight I think you are getting excellent customer service.

THe reason it sucks is that if you buy another one, they will ship it to you overnight for free. IF they send you a POS, you have to wait 3 to 5 times as long to get the replacement.

I side with the OP... customer service makes it all. They can write off that shit as a loss, including the shipping. Cobb isn't going to lose any sleep over 25 extra bucks they have to pay to expedite it and save face. They choose, they lose.

i have underlining circumstances that are out of my control. They should with out a doubt replace there defective product ASAP

Thank you! i did buy another one. So far 1400 dollars and 1 broken access port!

That's great and all, you guys obviously have the mindset of a needy customer. :lol:

I'm a bit more business minded than most. There is a feasible extent to which a business will/should go to remedy a given situation. (product being replaced and shipped at their cost.)

I understand if they say, "hey it's going to be about 5-6 days to ship out the new unit." that it would be absurd to accept those terms. I think it's fair that they should expedite the transaction to an extent. (2nd day shipping seems fair.)
